“She bought all her friends’ names so we wouldn’t lose them to someone else!” It was early 2000’s. Kim’s team noticed that someone purchased her domain. Turns out Left Eye (rest in power) scooped up Kim’s domain alongside their other celebrity friends so no one else would (cyber squatting is a problem). Real. It’s also something I do for my friends. Own your brand. That’s the message. Check out a few domains I recently designed (say pandemic & beyond) below while you consider your next domain move.
Tap Into The Transformation
As I tell my friends, evolution is inevitable. Below is a peek into the before and after for a project I had an opportunity to work on. Ya’ll better get into this growth. The transformation included migrating the site to a new content management system, refreshing the look, SEO on-page optimization (keyword research, seo writing) and more.
Visual Storytelling
“I choose to invest my time and energy only in projects that I am passionate about. Once I’ve committed, I give it all of me.” Beyoncé read my mind when dropped that line. Check out the visuals below to tap into projects I had an opportunity to work on. Click on the thumbnail to engage.
Written Word
Sophomore year Spanish class. That’s when it happened. I was flipping through the pages of VIBE Vixen magazine—a refreshing change from VIBE—geared towards women. Why it mattered? It was a rarity to see stories that resonated with and celebrated Black women. It felt good. That’s when I decided I wanted to write for real. That was the teen dream. Unfortunately, VIBE Vixen folded… that is, until it re-launched digitally in 2011. And that was it. From flipping glossy pages to making a dream a reality and writing pieces that I’m genuinely proud of—from interviewing Mya and Laz Alonzo to honoring the memory of Aaliyah to interviewing one of my favorite UPN Girlfriends’ Tracee Ellis Ross.
